MEET CHEF ANGEL
Alison Brooke Adair—known to many as Chef Angel—is a world-traveled chef, teacher, nutrition educator, and healer whose life has been shaped by 49 moves over nearly 50 years. Each transition has deepened her resilience and fueled her passion for service, healing, and connection. From organizing community events to teaching nutrition and caregiving, her path reflects a profound commitment to growth—both personal and collective. Now writing her first book, Alison shares hard-won life lessons from her years living on (and off) a school bus, blending Ayurveda, kindness, and lived wisdom to inspire healing through connection.
As the founder of this space, I’m Alison Adair, and my mission is to cultivate self-awareness while serving as a conscious connector. I see myself as a bridge—linking health and holistic education, and creating spaces where ideas, practices, and people can converge. Rooted in Ayurveda, I draw on ancient systems of healing to help others (and myself) find balance through the elements, the chakras, and the energetic qualities of food. By honoring the unique constitution of each person—Vata, Pitta, or Kapha—we can create more harmony within, and in turn, reflect that harmony outward into the world.
Playful Persistence
Playful Persistence is the heartbeat of Alison’s creative and spiritual practice—a devotion to growth that dances between joy, ritual, and self-inquiry. Rooted in earth-based spirituality and the rhythms of nature, her journey is shaped by fire performance with fans, movement-based meditation, and embodied ceremony. Whether through the heat of a flame or the stillness of a breath, Alison weaves sacred expression into everyday moments. Her practice includes cacao ceremonies, breathwork, and plant medicine, all held in deep reverence for the land and its teachings.
Through journaling, poetry, vision boards, and artistic exploration, she invites transformation with childlike curiosity and a fierce love for healing. Volunteering, community service, and gathering in solidarity with nature are central to her offerings—acts of remembrance that we are not separate from the whole. Each modality Alison engages in—from fire dance to prayerful silence—is a window into the soul’s unfolding. Playful Persistence is not just a phrase—it’s a lifestyle of listening, creating, and continually showing up for yourself and others with open hands and a steady flame.

TESTIMONIALS
When I moved to Bangkok from Korea at six years old, I didn’t speak any English. Ms. Alison Adair patiently taught me from the ground up—starting with the alphabet—and within four months, I was able to start school. Her creative approach, including fun cooking classes, helped me build confidence, make friends, and become fluent. She was always on time, deeply committed, and truly changed my life as a teacher.

Ms. Alison Adair was my very first teacher when I was three years old, and she gave me the confidence to love learning from the very beginning. I was shy at first, but with her kindness, patience, and fun way of teaching English, I quickly opened up and began to thrive. Her classroom was warm, safe, and full of joy—and that early experience shaped the positive attitude I carry with me today

As a parent, I feel incredibly grateful to have had Ms. Alison Adair as my daughter Tia’s very first kindergarten teacher. Tia was a shy child, and as a first-time mom, I had my share of worries—but thanks to Ms. Alison’s warmth, patience, and genuine care, Tia settled in quickly and began looking forward to school every day. Ms. Alison didn’t just teach—she nurtured, guided, and truly saw my child. Her dedication gave Tia a strong foundation that still supports her today, helping her grow into a confident, well-rounded learner with no fear of the stage and a love for reading, writing, and math. She was a teacher, a mentor, and in many ways, a second mother. Our family will always consider her a gift to every kindergartener she meets.

I’m happy to give my highest recommendation for Ms. Alison Adair as a cooking teacher. She taught my daughter for about a year, and her classes were always creative, engaging, and deeply loved by the students. Ms. Alison has a strong sense of responsibility, a wide knowledge of education, and a thoughtful way of caring not only for her students but also for the parents. We were grateful to have her as part of our child’s learning journey.

Ms. Alison Adair was a transformative teacher for both of my children. She helped my shy daughter Mayuko build confidence and start speaking English openly in class, and she created a fun, structured private curriculum for my son Kazuto, who went from knowing no English to enjoying his school classes with ease. Alison’s creativity, energy, and deep care for each child made her a favorite in our apartment community—both as an English teacher and a weekend cooking instructor. Her classes were always well-prepared, engaging, and filled with warmth. I’m grateful for the impact she’s had on my family and highly recommend her.

Ms. Alison has been an exceptional teacher for all three of our children—both through her cooking classes at home and as an English teacher at Wells International School. Though she wasn’t our son’s homeroom teacher, he and many others always wanted to be in her class because of her bright spirit, sincerity, and clear dedication to her students’ growth. Her enthusiasm and genuine care motivated our kids to actively engage and enjoy learning. We’re grateful for the love and energy she brings to teaching, and we truly value the lasting impact she’s had on our family.

Ms. Alison Adair has been an incredible teacher for my daughter, both in private English lessons and her cooking class since 2015. She is thoughtful, enthusiastic, and highly professional—one of the best educators I’ve encountered. In her cooking classes, she connects with every child and supports them patiently, helping even the youngest students feel proud of their accomplishments. Her private lessons are just as engaging, blending language learning with crafts, art, and hands-on activities that keep my daughter excited from start to finish. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any family or program seeking a warm, skilled, and dedicated teacher.
